Some of you may never have heard of this top pop duo, but the fact is that they made their first appearance on the Pops way back in 1986! If you don't believe us, just ask your parents.
Debuting at No.10, this souped-up version of Peter Gabriel's classic from even further back in pop history is the first single from the duo’s new covers album 'Other People’s Songs'. It is Erasure’s 27th - yep, 27th - Top 40 hit - a total which puts them third in the all-time list of most successful chart duos, like, ever.
In their heyday the band were known for their flamboyant costumes, particularly flamenco shirts with extra frilly sleeves. So tune in on Friday for a revival of that all-important 'your Dad's been at the dressing-up box' look...
