The Human League
Founded by Phil
Oakey, Martyn Ware and Ian Marsh back in
the late seventies, The Human League's early years were similar to that
of Erasure in that their early music made small impact on the UK
Charts.
Marsh and Ware soon left after tension with Oakey and Susan Anne Gayle
and Joanne Catherall were brought in.
After moderate success with hits like 'The Sound Of The Crowd,
Don't
You Want Me shot in at number one and is one of the best loved
eighties tracks.
After a few more singles, the Human League started to
disappear from the top ten in the late eighties but in 1995 shot
straight back into the top ten with
Tell Me When.
The most recent album
'Secrets' and single All I Ever Wanted made very little impact on the
UK charts failing to make the top forty when released in 2002. The
Human League now regularly tour on a yearly basis.
