In 2013 Kylie signed up to be a coach on the BBC's hit
talent show 'The Voice UK' replacing outgoing judge Jessie J
for the third series. 'I Believe In Kylie' tracked Kylie and
her team of singers from the Blind Auditions to the live
finals.

TV Talent Shows? We
all know what they are and they've been around
in their current form since the beginning of the
millennium. Popstars gave us Will Young,
Popstars The Rivals gave us Girls Aloud and then
came the X Factor spawning many stars including
Leona Lewis, Matt Cardle, Olly Murs and of
course One Direction. All the successful TV
singing talent shows have been on ITV.
All of the these shows have judges from the
music industry whether it be Geri Halliwell (Popstars
The Rivals) or Kylie's sister Dannii Minogue (X
Factor). But Kylie herself has never put her bum
in the judges chair before. Of course she has
helped mentor Dannii's team on the X Factor and
performed numerous times on the show. In an
interview on Channel 4's 'Alan Carr Chatty Man'
in 2012 Kylie said she wouldn't be interested in
the X Factor stating at that point it was 'a
million per cent no'.
In 2012 the BBC launched their own singing
talent show, 'The Voice UK' after it's success
in other countries. The concept of the show is
very different to the X Factor. There are no
judges but four 'superstar coaches' who sit with
their backs to singers. If they like what they
hear they can turn around and that singer goes
onto their team .... unless more than one coach
turns around then the singer decides whose team
they want to go on. The four coaches end up with
a team of twelve singers and through various
rounds they get whittled down until only one
singer from each team remains and the winner of
the live final is declared 'The Voice.'
In 2012 and 2013 the four coaches were Sir Tom
Jones, Black Eyed Peas member will.i.am, Jessie J
and The Script singer Danny O'Donoghue. For 2014
Jessie & Danny pulled out due to touring
commitments. Rumours soon abounded that Kylie
was being offered the role of coach for third
series after she had initially turned down the
role for the first series. In September it was
confirmed that Kylie had agreed a contract and
she was to join Sir Tom, will.i.am and Kaiser
Chief's frontman Ricky Wilson for 2014.
will.i.am was reportedly so keen for Kylie to
sign he gatecrashed her meeting with executive
producers and being able to talk to will was
enough for Kylie to sign on the dotted paper.
